My a/c runs cool 5 seconds and warm 10 seconds and the cycle repeats itself. The clutch is cycling. 2 things can cause this: the low press switch in the receiver is activating due to low gas or the "thermo control amp" with sensor located in the evaporator is removing power to the clutch coil via the a/c relay.
If I bypass the high/low pressure switch and the a/c does not cycle, would that be conclusive proof it is low on refrigerant? Sorry, I have no gauges. The r12 ones I have do not work on this car.
